Cub Scout Pack 52 is made up of girls and boys from Kindergarten to 5th grade students attending Del Rey Elementary school in Orinda, CA. Our pack has been in formation for over 50 years! The site includes announcements about upcoming meetings, pack news, a calendar of upcoming events and a place to share great photos of our pack in action.

Join us for our annual paper rocket launch kick-off.
At 6:05-ish we will have a quick opening ceremony and a brief demonstration of how to build the rockets. Art supplies and construction materials will be out on the tables. We will have a couple of older scouts roaming around to help with construction as needed.
When most of the rockets have been completed, we will wander out to the black top for our launches.
We’ll need 3-4 parent volunteers to help supervise the air pumps, and the younger scouts will need help pumping as well. We also need 1 or 2 standing bicycle air pumps with pressure gauges. Please let me know if you have one you can bring. If we don’t have enough volunteers, a couple of lucky parents will be recruited from the audience.
The picnic will be a potluck lunch and each family is asked to bring a dish that can serve 12-20 people. We would like to have a nice mix of main dishes, sides, salads and desserts. The pack will supply hot dogs, buns, and condiments as well as compostable dishes and utensils. Please bring serving utensils for your dish if any are needed. One family may choose to operate as the "grill master" instead of bringing a dish. Sign up for this slot by writing "grill master" in the sign up sheet (first-come, first-served).
We are also bringing back a pack tradition of an ice cream sundae party. The pack will supply the ice cream and bowls. Each family may bring a favorite ice cream topping (or cones) to share with the pack.

Schedule:
11:00-11:30: Arrival, free play time. The park playground will be open and we will have a number of games out for the kids to play (frisbee, lawn darts, corn hole etc).
11:30-12:30: We will have a discussion on healthy eating to finish out the personal fitness adventures for all scouts, followed by lunch time and continued free play.
12:30-1:30: Hike on the EBMUD trails (next to the park). Parts of the trails here are in direct sun. Be prepared - bring a hat and put on sunscreen!
1:30-2:00: Ice cream sundae bar and other desserts.
This Wednesday, January 22nd, our Pack meeting will emphasize basic science instruction to help kids build fantastic cars. We plan to keep it as hands-on as possible. 6pm, Del Rey MPR. See you there!
For our Kindergarten parents: Please invite any K or TK friends who might be interested in learning what we do at Scouts! We invite prospective TK and Kindergarten scouts to this Wednesday's Pack meeting as well as our Pinewood Derby on Saturday, February 8th. (They can build a car and race it too!)
