Welcome to Pack 52!

Cub Scout Pack 52 is made up of girls and boys from Kindergarten to 5th grade students attending Del Rey Elementary school in Orinda, CA.  Our pack has been in formation for over 50 years!  The site includes announcements about upcoming meetings, pack news, a calendar of upcoming events and a place to share great photos of our pack in action.

Pack 52 Picnic

Saturday, May 2nd we will have our Spring Picnic from 11:30-2:30.  11:30-12:15 will be setting up and preparing the hot dogs. This year, we will be at the Lafayette Community Park (480 St. Mary's Road) in the picnic area, across from the playground. We will have a casual potluck lunch, run some field games and go for a hike along the trails.  And we will finish with our ice cream sundae bar.

Look for a potluck signup sheet soon. 

2026-2027 School Year Planning

It is already time for us to plan for next year.  We need to reserve our fall campout spot and MPR dates very soon.  So put on your thinking caps and let us know what you would like to see in next year's cub scout program.  The planning meeting will be held during the spring picnic so we can get maximum parent involvement (because we really do want your input).  

If you can't make the picnic/planning meeting, please email us your suggestions.

Pack Carnival Wednesday, May 22nd

The final pack meeting of the year will be our annual carnival and final graduation with advancement patches. We will have carnival games made by scouts, snacks and prizes.  Snacks are popcorn and cotton candy (if we can get the machine working). 
 
Please ask your scout if they would like to come up with a game for the carnival.  Examples of previous games: ring toss, nerf gun target, bowling, mini golf, mini basketball shooting game. Keep it simple!

Side Dish Signup - required!

We are excited to host the blue and gold banquet next week.  The pack will provide the main course (we'll provide more details once finalized), but we need the help of the pack for sides, desserts, and drinks.
 
EACH FAMILY attending the banquet, please choose one of the sides in this signup list:
 
 
The AOL families that are helping organize and set up the banquet are exempt.
 
Any slots that are not filled by Tuesday morning will be assigned.

2026 Pinewood Derby

Weigh-In: The weigh-in will occur at our pack meeting on Wednesday at 6 pm. Please bring your completed car with you to the meeting. If you haven't added weights to your car yet, there will be stick-on steel weights available at the weigh-in. We can also supply the graphite wheel lubrication.

While the dens are each holding den meetings and working on their adventures, we will call up each den one at a time to turn in their cars.

Help us out by registering your car name in advance: Register your car here!

We will also take a photo for your scout's drivers license at the weigh-in (if we didn't get your photo at the workshop).

Race Day: The race is next Saturday (21st) from 10am- about 12:30pm.

10:00-10:15 Welcome and National Anthem

10:15-10:35 Arrow of Light, Webelos, Bears Heats

10:35-11:00 Wolves, Tigers, Lions Heats

11:00-11:10 Friends and Family races

11:10-11:30 Voting for Funniest and Most Creative cars

11:30-12:00 Finals

12:00-12:30 Award Ceremony and Pizza
